Review on Vollrath 47145 Stainless Steel Disher by John Miranda

I have bought two Vollrath plates - yellow #20 and red #24. I can compare them to the OXO Good Grips trigger ice cream scoop - bought recently - and similar in structure. - Both OXO and Vollrath cost about the same. - OXO is of significantly lower quality. The trigger mechanism bends easily and the spring is much weaker than the Vollarth. While the OXO grip holds up well, the overall construction of the OXO leaves a lot to be desired. The Vollrath is made from heavier metal and has a stronger construction. Unlike OXO, the blade swings all over the bucket. It is clear that Vollrath is better made. The color coded Vollrath pencils are nice and they are also stamped with size (#24) on the metal trigger. For baking, ice cream or general use - I really like the Vollrath and will buy more different sizes if needed. product +.
