It took me a significant amount of time to decide on a juicer. A friend of mine had an older model, and I got to see it. I had already made up my mind that I was going to go with this particular brand because the cost-to-value ratio is exceptional. The advantage of older versions is that they are lower and easier to place on the countertop, both on an ongoing basis and when they are used frequently: Nevertheless, the metal auger was sufficient to win me over. Because of this, we make frequent use of the juicer, and even though I once jammed it with overly large bits of tough pomegranate and the cap flew off, the safety mechanism kicked in and shut the juicer off; when I cleaned it, it started functioning normally again. To sum it up, for such a low price, I very likely would not have been able to locate something that was of higher quality.
