Review on 🧹 Qualtex MIZ-FR-AD-UG DC07 Lifetime Pre & Post Filters with Washable and HEPA, 2 Piece Set - Highly Efficient Cleaning Solution by Jasmine Williams

The perfect item for your aging DC07!

Just what we need for our aging but reliable DC07 that we have owned for about 15 years. We never replaced our "lifetime" HEPA filter, and the washable filter never seemed completely clean after the occasional flush. When I realized that our vacuum had a persistent dog smell, I knew it was time for a long overdue housing/cyclone cleaning and filter change. After reading a lot of assembly instructions and watching videos, I refrained from wet cleaning parts of the housing or the cyclone, afraid of the formation of "cement" inside the machine (some vacuum experts warned about this). I disassembled the machine and cleaned it pretty well using a bottle brush, a vent brush and a vacuum (yes it seems pretty weird cleaning one vacuum with another). Don't go crazy with vacuuming, "good enough" will do. Also, just a tip, be sure to follow the recommended steps (see tutorial on YouTube) to remove any hair or thread that has wrapped around the whisk - this is very important, otherwise your machine won't get used to touching the carpet ! But it wasn't until I installed these new filters that my car suddenly started having amazing, like-new performance. These new parts appear to have a thinner plastic construction than the originals, but they fit perfectly and work as they should. Mine came with the necessary foam pads that were easy to install on top of the HEPA filter. I will probably get one or the other of these inexpensive filters to have my dear Dyson at hand for another 15 years without a dog smell. If you don't have to buy bags or belts (hat, Dyson), filters are arguably a little thing you have to worry about every decade or so (whether you need them or not, Dyson says).
