On the Drawing Fence

I really like that these crayons are made from natural materials and are safe enough to eat, although the company does NOT recommend it. just be clean I also liked that they are said to be "durable". One of the crayons broke after falling out of my toddler's hand no more than 15 inches off the ground (not thrown). So they are not as durable as claimed. I was disappointed to see that the three colors looked pretty much the same - both in the picture and on arrival. We have tried them all and they are very similar! It's hard to see WHY they include three shades that are basically the same. There's no pink undertone either, which would be nice for a basic set of colored pencils. However, I prefer them to all other colored pencils because of their safety and non-toxic composition. They write smoothly and leave no trace of wax chips like many colored pencils on the market. They also come in a tin that opens and closes with a slight click. For us this means that the tin does not break as quickly (like a box of colored pencils) and my toddler cannot (yet) open it alone. There is also a small plastic sharpening tool in the jar, which is a beautiful and practical tool. For the price I would have really liked more color variety. I would recommend these for their aforementioned pure ingredients, but be aware that the colors leave something to be desired. And if you have a toddler who is prone to dropping crayons or trying to break them, you might prefer bricks over real crayons.

Pros
  • Drawing Tools
Cons
  • Crumpled
