Thanks everyone for your replies that helped me with the battery case! I've attached a video showing mine not bouncing! Thanks for the curious answer, because that was the only way to open it! I like the size and I like the blade. The concept of this trimmer was good but they could have added features to make it easier to hold the paper while cutting! You could add a magnet stick or something to hold the paper in place. If you don't get your fingers close to the cutting edge when starting and stopping the cut, you won't get a clean cut. And while the blade won't cut you, it says: I just don't feel comfortable getting my fingers that close and wrestling with the battery compartment. i will return it
