Review on Herm Sprenger 2 25Mm Training Collar by Stephanie Baldwin

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A great trainer when used correctly.

Do you have a dog that pulls or tugs? This will change walking forever. I'm a Pittie Lab mix and even at 4 months her leash pulling was enough to strain my lower back. Sign in Germ. Put it on and after a few quick tugs on the leash and a few verbal commands, walking becomes a pleasure. Along with the vibrating collar, I can take her off the leash on most walks (on approved dog trails). If she stops following the "foot" command I'll put that on for the next walk or two and bingo, she's fine again at just under 6 months. I know some people find this barbaric but for me it was much safer for my dog. She pulled so hard that I was afraid of hurting her throat, especially since after that she coughed and coughed for a long time. The straps made her bounce on her hind legs the entire time and still made her cough when she exerted herself. Herm has a plate that goes through the larynx to prevent damage and distribute pressure evenly. Knowing how to use it properly and safely is important. I recommend Tom Davis No Bad Dogs on YouTube as he uses this collar specifically for training. If you're talking about it because it might cause your dog pain, then do what you would (and should) do with a shock collar. Put it on yourself and see what you experience. If you don't feel comfortable putting your dog to the test, bring him back. And if you like it, hey, no judgements! 😉
