Review on πŸ”Œ Grohe 46138000 1/2 in. Quick Coupling: Hassle-Free Connection at Any Size by James Edwards

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It works, but you'll need another one in about a year.

This is a direct replacement for the GROHE hose at the base of the hose where it attaches to the faucet. It fits and is really easy to replace (takes about 2 minutes) but I seem to have to replace it every year. Attached are 2 photos. The right part is an original GROHE part. The one on the left is a replacement I bought last year. Now I had to buy another one because the o-ring failed and water got into my case. You can easily see that the replacement part is much lighter than the original. But it serves its purpose just as well as the original. The reason for the 3 star rating is that I have to replace this part every year. I think it's just bad design or something. I paid almost $50 for that thing. The price is high, but I haven't found a cheaper one anywhere. So yes it works, but it only lasts about a year or so. Remember this is for the sink on my 42ft Carver. So it doesn't look like the sink will be used all year round. I take the boat out for the winter every October and put it back in April of the next year. So it's only addictive for about 6 months. Yes I would buy it again but only because to solve this problem for more than a year I would have to replace the entire faucet with a more expensive type and brand. The manufacturer's part is more difficult to find, so this replacement must be performed. There are 3 types of them and they differ in compression level I think. They have different colors. This yellow represents the highest pressure. So if you are in the same position as me then yes buy it but I think next year I will just replace the whole faucet with another brand because it gets annoying to replace this thing every year. And it will end up wrecking my closet due to water damage if it fails again.
