Today I finally solved the dreaded broken caliper bolt issue on my '99 Dodge Dakota. As previously mentioned, a major problem is that Dakotas and Durangos have threading issues where the caliper pins thread into the steering knuckle, which is a major safety concern on these vehicles. Just one operation on the front wheel brake can lead to torn brake caliper bolt threads. To make this repair I had to buy a 3/8" drill bit to drill the worn hole and a tap wrench, the second item surprised me. так как совершенно очевидно, что он вам понадобится!Процесс прошел гладко и легко.Просверлил отверстие в поворотном кулаке, пропустил смазанный метчик, установил вставку (как раз нужная - она держалась) и собрал тормоза используя подходящую смазку на новом штифте суппорта, и everything is OK. to replace the steering knuckle. First I tried an oversized self-tapping pen and it was a terrible failure.
