So how can a product be called 'garden furniture protection' if it can't get wet? I've tried this on several outdoor patios. It does a "good" job of improving the appearance of plastic as long as it doesn't come into contact with water. If water gets on it, it will be rinsed off immediately and look the same as before the time wasted. It's very frustrating to realize that after all the time spent trying to make it look nice and "protective", a little water washes it all away. I ran some tests to see if I could really benefit from this product. The ONLY way I've found it to last "a little longer" is to apply it to plastic furniture and then lay it out in the hot summer sun for a few days. This is the only way I've found that helps it completely not wash off after contact with water, but after a few rains it still comes off and looks old and faded again. The first photo of a single stool shows it being splashed with some water from watering the plants and completely washed off after 24 hours of treatment. The photo with the two chairs is meant to show what they look like after a few days in the sun after a summer afternoon rain. After a few more showers, the chairs tend to look old and faded again. Furniture takes longer to clean and apply than this material actually lasts. Well, if your furniture NEVER gets wet, then this material might be acceptable to you. But for me OUTDOOR PROTECTANT should be reasonably waterproof/water-repellent. I have another outdoor plastic box that I use to store the pool items that I have applied this material to. It sat and looked fine for a few days until I fixed the pool and put my wet hand on it and the "preservative" came off immediately. I now have a finished matte handprint box because the material washes off immediately with water.
