Maybe I expected too much

Years ago I had a much weaker steam mop but it didn't clean very well so I threw it away. I thought it would be so much better and had the illusion that I could run steam over the tile floor and hard water stains around the faucet and wipe away the dirt. It did not work. My floor is porcelain stoneware, which I chose because it is very non-slip. Unfortunately, I found that this was because there were occasional indentations that filled up with junk. Add to that the gaps that are too big and my floor looks taupe when it should only be grey. I have several Roomba vacuums and scrubbers, and the kitchen cabinets need to be cleaned before I get up every morning. Unfortunately they're really just wet mops and they carry around the same mop until I turn it off. The surface will be clean, but the edges and indentations will not. I figured I could wipe it with a mop and get the dirt out. That will not do. I used one of the cleaning brushes and scrubbed the problem areas a few times. The brush and hot water really loosened the dirt and then I ran a mop over it to pick up the dirt. It works better than a brush and bucket, but no wonder. I used a small brush around my faucet and it really did nothing. But the brush will literally shoot along the bottom edge in a minute or two. It's spread out like an old toothbrush. The light turns green when the water is ready to use, but then turns red again when I use it. I'll have to read the entire manual and see if it means anything. The tank is not removable, so you have to fill the whole car. It fits in my large sink, but otherwise it would hurt. It comes with a tiny funnel and cup, but it takes a long time to fill. There is only one fill hole (so the vapor can stay inside) and it's quite small. If you fill the water in too quickly, it won't fill up because the expelled air has no place to escape. But that's not a big problem. There is no way to see how much water you have in the tank. I wish there was some kind of indicator. The hose does not detach, which makes storage a bit difficult. It sticks out about 4 inches from the back, so it takes up more space than ideal. Well, it works, but it doesn't replace scraping. The search for the perfect clean floor continues.
