I have owned this Garmin for 2 years and am glad I bought it. I use it in my car when going on long trips and also for daily local use when going to a new place. I have also used it for hiking trails as a walker. I find it much more useful than the previous two TomToms I've had. I use it with the sound turned off as I find the voice instructions on any GPS annoying and intrusive. What I like about it: * Good screen size and relatively thin. * Depending on the setting, you get a lot of information on the screen and there is enough space for "navigation". * The route taken and the destination are marked with different colors. Navigation while driving.* 3D rendering of complex intersections What's frustrating:* Maps take a long time to start/load.* Estimated time of arrival is terrible. It seems to assume that you can always drive at the speed dictated by the speed limit. It doesn't even allow normal stops, such as at traffic lights. For a city trip with little traffic, I mentally add 30% to his estimates. It's not too bad for long freeway journeys, but still add an extra 20-30 minutes for a 150-mile trip. * I configured it to find the fastest route. Sometimes he takes bizarre routes, like the unnecessary "circle of the block," down farm tracks, or takes a shortcut from a perfectly good freeway onto a residential street with a 30 mph speed limit and speed bumps! So I always take a quick look at the mapped route first - if I don't agree with it, I choose my own route and let Garmin correct it automatically and catch up!* When searching for e.g. B. Gasoline via the search function Train stations, ATMs, grocery stores in this area it always seems to look "behind" your driving direction rather than "ahead".
