Painted some wood products and waited for the paint to dry then stuck with an adhesive backing and they stay on the products. If you don't mind gluing, you can just buy a huge bag of rhinestones and apply glue to them. You can also use glue dots as an alternative to glue for those gems that lose their stickiness when you remove them (or even for non-self-adhesive gems) as they work very well.
