I have another generic strain gauge from "Decas" that isn't very good and uses a different lookup table than this tool (this one uses the same chart as a park tool). It is much better than other tools from other manufacturers. I wouldn't use it to build a wheel if I couldn't calibrate it first. I compared it to a friend's park tool and it was VERY close, but if I didn't have that reference point I wouldn't be sure if it's accurate.
