This is both a motion sensor and a doorbell. The kit includes a bell button that can be mounted next to the door, a motion sensor that can be installed anywhere within 300 meters and a bell that can be plugged into an electrical outlet. The bell will ring when the bell button is pressed or motion is detected by the sensor. I installed the motion sensor at the end of the driveway, perpendicular to the driveway. I also placed it about 1 foot off the ground. That works great. The doorbell rings when a car or something pulls into the driveway. I mounted the bell button on the back door as I already have a bell on the front door. My driveway is about 300 feet long and the motion sensor signal travels easily through my shed and garage to my house. The motion sensor is powered by 4 AA batteries (not included) which are accessible by removing 4 small screws (a small regular screwdriver is included but the Phillips screws do. It works though. I wonder how long the hold batteries). last. After a day I only had one false alarm at night which was probably some animal. My only complaint is that the instructions ONLY apply to THE DOORBELL BUTTON AND BELL. There's no mention of a motion sensor It's clear how to change the ringtones, it's a confusing process. The instructions do not explain how to change the ringtone to the motion sensor. I just left them as default. I reserve the right to judge how long the batteries last and how many false alarms I'm getting.
