So here's a little about this brand and product (which I've tried many of their flavors of). As for the brand, here you get a product that looks like a crispy rice treat, but. very no. If you are expecting this kind of taste or texture, you will be deeply disappointed. In terms of texture, you end up with something very thick and sometimes fluffy. It will not be light and fluffy. In fact, it weighs more than a brick. It's NOT a terrible taste, at least not at first. It's not so much the taste, but the overpowering "flavor" of fake sugar that creeps in after the real taste of the bar is gone (about 5 minutes after swallowing). This problem persists long after the gritty substance has completely cleaned your teeth. So vanilla (the most basic flavor for this bar and most similar to Crispy Treat) is definitely a bottled vanilla flavor. It's wrong, and it leads straight to that fake, sugary "feeling" that lingers. It can be a bit nauseous (so if you're particularly annoyed by such things, this bar isn't for you). However, to be honest, this was one of the bars I liked the most. The "Cookies & Creme" flavor has that deep burnt chocolate flavor (similar to the dirty taste of Oreo - less sugar but definitely dusty). There's almost no cream in it that's included in this goodness, so a very overbearing taste. Burnt, dirty "cookies" put all the rest to shame, and fake sugar is less appealing than some other bars. But actually it's very similar to eating a burnt cardboard box among the cookies. ;P"Mint Chocolate Chip" (which is kind of inspired by ColdStone?!?) tastes NOTHING like ice cream. I mean nothing. It doesn't look like anything dairy PERIOD. There's a deeply unpleasant taste of mint - like someone poured a bottle of mint extract into a batch and forgot to boil down one of the extract spirits. It is something. More like the mint in a toothpaste than the mint in a tasty bar. The content is filling, however, and if the goal is to keep a low cal/high protein bar in your reputation, this is (dollar for dollar) a worthy deal. The best of all bars, "Chocolate Caramel". a bar that despite its texture (like I said all these bars are very "thick" (very concentrated) so the heaviness can put a person off at times, but it was definitely the best flavor. It had a chocolaty appearance with a slightly sticky caramel a flavor that overrides what could have been a freshness issue (or was just a combination of wrong sugar and texture for just under $2 a bar.) The bad part is that they, since they had this wonderful bar in their repertoire decided to discontinue production. Real disappointment. This is the only product in their line that is beyond delicious and really helps me keep track of my calories. I'm looking for something amazing again , a re-fusion with horrible taste (both initially and afterwards), horrible price, and horrible texture. Blech! Hope you're all better! If not, at least you have one real on it!
