A few days ago at 23:00 my original lightbulb blew up. It didn't seem to do much damage, although I thoroughly vacuumed the interior. After reviewing all of my options and cautioning against using third-party replacement parts, I followed the consumer's advice that replacing just the bulb and not the entire "cartridge" isn't that difficult. The latter, of course, is much easier (but almost $100 more expensive); However, with my wife's help, we were able to remove 7 tiny screws, take out the old one and put in the new bulb. The code on this replacement bulb was exactly the same as the one we removed. As we had been warned, we put on gloves to keep fingerprints off the lamp. I turned on the projector and everything seems to be working fine. I reset the lamp usage counter to zero. You will need very thin Phillips screwdrivers; Our jewelry sets didn't have a small enough cross, but the tiny slot worked well.
