My daughter is 26 months old. Her friends have two wheeled scooters and my daughter was uncomfortable riding them. So I got a tricycle because of its extra stability. Although this toy says ages 3 and up, my daughter's height is 90% for her age. It didn't take much time to assemble as there are few parts. They all appear to be unused and the threaded parts were quite tight so I figured they would last a long time. So far she only rides on carpet and in the hall in our condominium. It moves smoothly. The top plate has sufficient friction; so her leg doesn't accidentally come off. The foot brake works too. As for the design, we chose strawberries and the pattern is very cute in pastel pink. When I'm not using it, I always fold it up so my daughter won't drive it alone. I think this is a handy feature and more secure too.
