I was impressed when we opened this chess set because of the quality of it. The only thing I would have like to have had was a handle on the case. You get a traditional chessboard but when you open it up, you see the quality of the pieces. They all run from the pawns which are 1.6" tall to the king which is 2.7" tall. The pieces are made of metal and have a nice weight to them without being too heavy. The chessboard is small enough to fit on a TV tray, being less than 12" square.My daughter fell in love with the set on sight and said that the two things she likes about the set is how each piece has a spot in the case to secure it when you are done playing with it and how the pieces looked. The pieces have details and are not the cheap plastic pieces she has used in the past.
