Review on Alkaline Ultraviolet Filtration by Express Water by Rashan Jimenez

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The mineral filter stopped working

The system was fairly easy to install and didn't cause me much trouble other than a few fasteners were loose so some hoses weren't as tight as they could have been . The problem is that they claim it adds minerals and raises the pH. The PH levels started out at 11, then over time (a month and a half from the date of purchase) the PH levels dropped to just over 9. I have no problem with that, but the "minerals" that should be in the water ARE NOT. I have several Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) meters that measure particles in water in PPM (parts per million). Our tap water (depending on where you are, I'm in Southern California) has a concentration of just over 200 ppm, "bad water" is typically 400+ ppm and reverse osmosis filtered water (considered "dead water" because it so is). been filtered). literally almost anything you can find in water) is typically below 50ppm. This water was first measured at 150ppm, which wasn't bad, and this lasted a week. Then it started showing below 100ppm and I thought the filter was starting to flatten out. After a few more weeks it started reading at 50ppm and stayed there for a while and I thought it was optimal. NOW the water reads LESS than 30 PPM. I have included pictures of the readings of the REGULARLY filtered reverse osmosis water (13ppm) that you can fill up on site and the readings of this system (21ppm). Eventually the water will be filtered and the pH will be higher, but don't pay the extra money for a mineral filter as it doesn't seem to work.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
