I bought these .040" electrodes for thin sheet metal work in combination with a gas lens kit for welding. These tungsten electrodes, which have long been excellent for welding in the 20-50 amp range, sparkled brightly and stayed sharp while welding the entire project (approximately 20 linear inches at 10% duty cycle) with no beading or tip erosion. (I prefer to grind fairly finely to minimize arc area.) They also did a great job of maintaining a sharp, "hard" finish that allowed me to move the weld pool with ease. Can you buy better electrodes with lanthanum coating? Are they sufficient for most welds in the comfortable amperage range of this diameter? for the price of a pack of premium e electrodes.
