Excellent Tungsten for Welding Equipment and Accessories

I have been TIG welding stainless steel for 20 years and this is the highest quality tungsten. They work better at low amperage DC starts than 1.5% lanthanum. The arc is clean and much brighter than cerium, and the tungsten remains very consistent and strong. Also very good and easy to sharpen. As far as I know, this is the highest quality tungsten. Pretty much I'll go to Wolfram.

Exactly what ordered

Hello everyone. Bought because I was tired of using 1/16 electrodes but didn't want to spend $15 on three of these at my local weld shop. In truth, I'd rather just buy this bundle and save $15 on other things, but oh well. In any case, starting at low currents to climb/from zero to DC is excellent. The max current I've used is 125 (I only started welding a week ago). If this review was helpful, please click the "Like" button.

Good quality for the price

First attempt with cheaper electrodes. I used Thoriated and switched to 2% Lanthanated. What I've noticed so far is that the electrodes don't chip off as easily as thoriated electrodes. I hate to say it but for the price you really can't get any better. I'm a hobby welder and I weld things for my own vehicles and projects. If you rely on your welds for business, you might want to go with a more reputable manufacturer, but for us hobbyists or people who don't care about welds, this is a really…

It's not what is advertised as

I wouldn't give it any stars if I could and the only reason I gave it 2 stars for value is because any 3/32 tungsten has to be so cheap. This is a value and 5 runs because I like the container they came in. But let's get down to business, that's by no means 2% lanthanum tungsten. I've welded tungsten with 2% lanthanate from various brands and admittedly they were more expensive but the ones I got from Amazon didn't work as well as the ones I've used. If advertised as something you should get…

Does what it says on the tin.

I bought these .040" electrodes for thin sheet metal work combined with a gas lens set for welding. For the purpose I bought them for and the price so far I have been excellent. These tungsten electrodes, used for welding in the 20-50 amp range, sparked brightly and stayed sharp throughout the project being welded (roughly fairly flat to minimize the area of the arc). They also did a great job of maintaining a sharp, "hard" feel that allowed me to move the sweat puddle with ease. Can you buy…

BEST TUGSTON FOR AC/DC 2% Lanthanized (Blue) READ REVIEW

I do TIG welding and buy TIG materials because it feels like forever and it costs a million dollars. I have to say Welding City is my seller, their prices are very hard to beat. 2% Lanthanated (blue), 3/32"x7" (box of 10) - best to use IMO, you can use it on DC like a champ, but on AC for aluminum it really shines too. It is the only tungsten that survives both processes. I like the fact that it holds a point so I can hold a nice tight bow. You can use other tungsten electrodes but for inverter

Pros
  • Easy Install

  • There are more interesting options.

Something is wrong here.

Something is wrong with these electrodes. I bought diamond cut lanthanate a few months ago. Diamond Lanthanates are difficult to grind, could be dunked in a puddle multiple times and still held a bow like a champ and lasted a very long time. In general, they seemed better than 2 percent thorified. Wanted to save money so bought it. They seem thorified, if not worse than thorified. They wear out very quickly, foul very quickly, and don't maintain an accurate, clean arc, at least for a short…

Does what it says on the tin.

I bought these .040" electrodes for thin sheet metal work in combination with a gas lens kit for welding. These tungsten electrodes, which have long been excellent for welding in the 20-50 amp range, sparkled brightly and stayed sharp while welding the entire project (approximately 20 linear inches at 10% duty cycle) with no beading or tip erosion. (I prefer to grind fairly finely to minimize arc area.) They also did a great job of maintaining a sharp, "hard" finish that allowed me to move the…
