Review on Kraus KPF-1610MB Bolden 18-Inch Commercial Kitchen Faucet: Dual Function Pull-Down Sprayhead, Matte Black Finish by Jose Morrison

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good quality product at low cost

I did not rate this faucet as it looks a bit fancy but the 5 star ratings made me take a closer look. Then I bought the stainless steel version and installed it today. One thing that struck me is the quality of construction, fit, and finish compared to a cheaper product I've tried (under $100). It was immediately noticeable that the braided hoses were thicker, the mainshaft locking ring was better designed (brass locking ring with two Phillips head screws to lock the adjustment and secure against loosening - not cheap plastic). The Kraus design also made installation easier. Bottom line, you get what you pay for, but the price isn't insanely stupid like Moen's. In terms of functionality, this type of faucet design couldn't be better as you can easily twist the gooseneck back and forth to get it out of the way. The faucet handle rotates 90 degrees, allowing you to install the faucet at the back of the sink with a slight gap. And of course the nozzle is detachable and you can extend the hose up to 60 cm so that it can be routed outside the sink. What I really like is the shower function of the nozzle because it has very good pressure, which allows me to use less water since I don't have to open the faucet handle more than 20% of the maximum. I'm lucky because even though my house is 80 years old with an old sink, once installed, the Kraus nozzle is aimed right at the center of the drain! The high water pressure in the nozzle helps clear the two sink strainers I have so they don't clog as often (every 3-4 days they clog with food debris).
