We recently got an adult dog rescued We were told it was house training. Turns out that wasn't the case. After 4 days we found that she was urinating in our guest room. I've used a carpet cleaner with all the oxygen additives and pet formulas but couldn't get rid of the smell. I bought the product out of desperation. The reviews for this product were amazing and I was very happy to get the smell out of the carpet. After 5 cleanings with carpet cleaner, the smell is almost gone, but not completely. So I followed the directions on the Bioda bottle and completely soaked the carpet. I left it on for an hour and then used a stain remover with water to get it out. The initial smell was very overpowering as stated by some previous reviews but I figured it would go away after a few days as stated by other reviews. It's not like this. My carpet smelled more like urine now than before using the product, only now it smells like perfumed urine. A day later the dog climbed into the room and peed again while I was there. Immediately blotted with a towel and sprayed with Biota. Since it didn't have time to cure, I didn't bother with the carpet cleaner. I followed the directions and sprayed on the stain, let it sit for 15 minutes, then blotted with a clean towel. Can't get rid of smell of urine. A week later, the room smelled so much of perfumed urine that I scrubbed all the stains again with just water-filled carpet cleaner (since I had already poured all sorts of soaps on them), hoping to get some of the perfume smell out. Now it smells like vomit. We hired a professional to clean the carpets. I gave the product 2 stars because it didn't work and was very strong, but at least the perfume didn't smell unpleasant, at least until the end.
