Good router but doesn't support Time Machine

This router seems like pretty good hardware, but while it has USB settings to support an attached USB hard drive for Time Machine backups (the Mac OS version of NAS backups), it works for those goals not right. . This allows Time Machine to see the drive, but it has never been able to back up using a drive previously used for this purpose. Been trying for about a week with no success; There was no Time Machine documentation for troubleshooting. Since that was the only reason I bought this model, I returned it and went back to my old router.
