In the heat the rhinestones started to melt
I used to have rhinestone license plate covers and that has never happened. But the rhinestones started to melt/slip off when the outside temperature reached around 105°. I've had them in the past, possibly from a different brand, and in a much hotter climate, but that never happened. They are still there, I just removed the covers from the car when it was hot.
