Simplicity at its best

Simplicity is the best way I can describe this coffee maker. I like that it's made of porcelain because it's easy to clean. Any coffee residue can be removed with a little washing-up liquid and a rinse. I have tried many types of coffee makers like percolators, french presses, electric coffee makers and other coffee makers and I can honestly say that this one is special because it is so simple and straightforward. The coffee flavors just burst out and my coffee tastes pure. There is no strong aftertaste, bitterness or the occasional pan taste. All you feel is the taste of coffee. If you are considering this coffee pot, I recommend a few accessories that will make the coffee-making process easier for you. Of course you will need a kettle or something to heat the water. I also recommend a coffee measuring spoon and a water measuring cup. After drinking a lot of bad coffee at friends and even coffee shops, I realized that some people don't take measuring water and coffee grounds seriously. When purchasing this pot, measurements are key as getting the coffee to water ratio is very important. To help, the most common ratio for any store-bought pre-ground coffee is 6 oz H2O/2 tablespoons coffee. That's why I recommend getting a 32-ounce Pyrex measuring cup. It holds hot water and it's easy to see the numbers. Another suggestion I'd like to make is to go with a 2 tablespoon scoop. This makes measuring easier and less messy than scooping the scoop twice into a tablespoon. By the way, keep your coffee grounds in the fridge and use filtered water if possible. It's that simple: Boil water, place the filter in a cone of measured coffee grounds, measure the water into the Pyrex, and then begin pouring hot water over the grounds. Use a spoon to lift the coffee grounds up a bit as you pour the water in, making sure not to flood the cone. Trust me I'm a coffee addict. Few cafes can match such a simple setup.
