Review on Moen Monticello Diverter Tub Spout 3807CP - Chrome/Polished Brass by Shawn Bass

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Heavy Duty Faucet Parts

bath spout well built and designed for heavy use. Many available spouts are flimsy and cheap. This is an overhead type and although my original spout was threaded it was easy to cut the threads and the copper tubing coming out of the wall to the recommended length. Clean the tube with sandpaper and put on a new one. Be sure to caulk the area where the pipe enters the shower wall to prevent water from entering the wall. During use, the spout can be easily closed to install the shower. It stays in place and won't let water through below. My old Price Pfister poured half the water out of the bath spout instead of pushing it through the shower. The only downside is that it's an expensive outlet. I don't know why anyone can't make a durable, well built universal replacement spout for less than $30. There are a mountain of cheap ones that are poorly built and perform poorly. Also from well-known brands.

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • questionable purchase for the elderly
