I already have the same transom plug on my boat. Since the standard rubber plug doesn't fit in these holes, I bought this as a spare in case the original fails. I really only need the screw-in insert, but for the price it's a plus to have everything including a socket. If I just want one connector I can take it from the kit and screw it into the one on the transom. If I ever need to replace the entire kit at the rear, I've got it.
