Works Great: Building Materials

Ignore the negative reviews. The reviewers did not follow the instructions. First, this is NOT a Chamberlain OEM remote. This is a compatible remote control. Therefore you cannot program it the way you program the 953EV. That's why there is no programming button on the back. The included instructions are clear and concise. You just have to read and follow them. The process is very simple. Second, the "button on the back" in the instructions refers to the garage door opener, not the remote control. the garage door closed. Don't start openly. This also applies to Chamberlain OEM remotes, so please don't blame the remote manufacturer. Please read the enclosed instructions carefully. If you program the remote yourself, you're just telling the remote what model of garage door opener that button will open. This part is very simple and works as described. Once the button is "programmed" you still need to pair the remote with your garage door opener. This process is identical for each remote control. Press the button on the back of the garage door opener. This turns on the small LED on the opener next to the button. Then, within 30 seconds, press and hold the button (that you programmed in the previous step) on the new remote until the garage door opener light flashes. That's all. Ready. I have two garage doors. One has a newer Chamberlain model with a yellow myQ button and the other has an older Chamberlain model with a purple button. By programming a button for the "yellow" model and another for the "purple" model, I now have a pair of remotes that can both open the garage doors.
