Review on πŸš— Uniden DFR8 Super Long Range Laser and Radar Detection with Advanced K/KA Band Filter, Voice Notifications, and Ultra-bright Multi-Colored OLED Display by Wayne Seba

Revainrating 3 out of 5

K-band never stops,

installed and loud k-band alerts started sounding immediately. Disappointing, but I'm in town and he's just doing his job, right? Switched to city mode, no change. Switched to advanced mode, turned on every possible K-band clipping filter, and the beep intensity went down, but it still beeped all the time. I had no choice but to turn off the K-band detection, so now I'm oblivious to the automatic speed traps/cameras that are very common in nearby towns. I wasn't sure if this issue deserved 1 or 2 stars, but when trying to give this review I was asked about "suction power". I almost forgot, but the connection between the detector and its mount is definitely stronger than the connection of the suction cups. If I unclip it, there's a good chance the mount will just pop off. I see there are radar detectors for $300 and up, but there are also models for less than $100. Suckers aside, I feel like I don't expect the world to be much smarter about false positives for a $200 device.

Pros
  • radar detector
Cons
  • expensive
