No matter how good my power tool is on a drill, no quality drill is limited in capabilities. These are high quality M42 drill bits made from 8% cobalt steel and supplied in a plastic case with indexes. (Image 1). If I want to drill stainless steel (SS) this is the bit I want to have and use. The DIY projects I do aren't interesting at all if I use an inferior bat. These drills are metric with 19 sizes ranging from 1mm to 10mm. They have a stepped tip (Figure 2) which provides a better cut by increasing the length of the cutting edge of the flute, ie A zigzag line between 2 points is longer than a straight line between the same 2 points. That's good, but it will reduce my ability to sharpen them with my trusty Dr*ll D*ctor, except for now. They only have one downside: none of the larger bits have a triple-ground shank to prevent rotation in the drill chuck. (Figure 3). I expect this feature in big chunks. They are well stamped to size, coated with titanium nitride (gold colored) to reduce wear and friction and sharpen very well. I would omit the half star due to the lack of flats on the larger shanks, but since there are no halves I use 5 by default. TIP: When drilling SS, use low RPM (500) and a cutting lubricant like Tap Mag*c for best Results. A small starting hole is best for drilling a large hole and with graduated bits they line up very well and drill through my SS very easily. I recommend this STROTON Store M42 Metric Drill Bit Set with 8% Cobalt. These are excellent quality bits at a good price. I hope you found the information and my review helpful.
