Sturdy, heavy, feels solid. Beautiful contours in the hand. Even at the lowest temperature, the triple flame lights cigars with ease and grace. Surprisingly, this is NOT butane gas. In more than half of the cases it lights up on the first try, the rest of the time on the second try. (I use Xicar Purofine and always clean it before refilling) The shape is a bit clunky and heavy to carry in your pocket and not beautifully shaped or "designer" enough as a cool desk talking point, but what importantly it is solid, reliable and a good value lighter that feels good in the hand and feels like it will last a long time. I recommend scorch. ==== Update: less than 6 months after purchase ==== I still love this lighter but now it won't shut off the gas once the slide is released. I hear gas for another 1-3 seconds. Sometimes a flame blazes around the closed lid for a second. (Oh, it's so dramatic in the dark!) This lighter was rarely used (maximum average 3 times a week for 6 months). It's a shame that each lightbulb now uses twice as much butane.
