I love Birkenstocks, have worn different ones for decades. But these have really sharp leather edges, the leather strap is cut in such a way that it leaves a sharp edge that will cut into my foot if I wear them twice in a row or for more than a few minutes. The back is pretty narrow, I can barely fit my heel in and I don't have any extra weight. And finally, I keep wondering if the outsole is leather because my foot feels like it's standing on some plastic. Smells a bit like leather but it could be a spray. Although the straps are leather, the most important thing to me is that my bare feet want to stand on leather, not synthetic. Still, I gave them four stars because they're actually Birkenstocks, my favorite shoes. In the past I have come across cheap counterfeits from a vendor other than Revain.
