I didn't really like how much pressure I had to use to get it in place but after that it was great. Check out the instructions on where to apply pressure if you have trouble applying. I think the tight fit is because they got rid of the little snags that the OEM filter has. In terms of performance, I didn't really notice the difference and I really didn't expect it. Well, it works a lot better than a clogged factory filter, but it's really no different than when the bike was new with a fresh filter. I was expecting it to be a lot louder since the K&N filter doesn't have such a large baffle. It looks like a standard filter, but I haven't noticed any real difference. without too. Let's hope the filter lives up to its advertised lifespan; I got about 5-6k miles off my OEM filter before it started affecting performance, which is still absurdly low. In any case, it is more convenient to simply clean the filter when it is presented for inspection than to have a spare on hand.
