Yamaha 2008 2-stroke engine.

Will not work on a 2008 Yamaha two-stroke as purchased. If you have a bit of common sense, all you have to do is take the plastic piece off one end and cut it off a few inches to make it work. Then put the plastic back in and you're good. I also drilled out a rubber butt plug and put it on the trim cylinder shaft to absorb trailer hits and it works like a charm. The rubber runs between the handle and the floor on the cylinder side so it can't come loose when towing. You can cut it to any length depending on where you want to place the motor. In my opinion this would be too high even if it worked. I hope to be able to help someone avoid my mistakes. Tried the original "My Wedge" (which is the same as the Yamaha brand) and it didn't work and you can't cut it. If you want to try a wedge that fits into the tilt cylinder, you'll probably get as frustrated as I did because it puts the motor in the fully raised position. You can also just use the factory motor lock if you like that height. This is for a 2008 Yamaha 2-Stroke on a 1860 G3. I cannot speak for other makes or models of boats or power assist devices. Hope I helped someone. As for the product after my mods - I am satisfied. I'm only giving it 3 stars because I had to change the original product and it might put someone else off. I left out the Metabo. A hacksaw will do, but it's a thick-walled pipe so it's going to be labor intensive if you go this route.
