Review on Lisle 23800 Flywheel Turner by Matthew Miles

Revainrating 5 out of 5

No slipping - easy to use

I have a 2002 Mazda B-3000 (Ford Ranger). Clutch slave cylinder leaking. Since I had to remove the gearbox to replace it, I decided to replace the clutch and flywheel. This required holding the flywheel to loosen and tighten both the flywheel bolts and the clutch pressure plate bolts. I also decided to change the timing chain cover (which was leaking); This included pulling out the harmonic balancer. Since the gearbox was removed, I had full access to the flywheel. I just hooked up a flywheel turner and left the handle on the truck frame (to keep it from moving). It worked great. I read reviews from some other lathes and they said they slipped. It had no slip even when I retightened the harmonic balance screw to 107 ft-lbs. I didn't even touch the flywheel's rotator - it just seized up as soon as the flywheel started to move. I love Lisle instruments. As soon as you look at the instrument, you can see that it is well made. Given the choice, I always buy them and have never been disappointed. They are always well made and work as they should!
