Very thin and won't stand up to children

This lock seemed like the perfect lock for our barn door in our bathroom but after the kids pulled on the door once when it was locked they bent the metal and it was still workable. Installation was more difficult for our contractor because he had to build a plank of wood to get it to fit properly.
