This is a reliable router that does the usual things: DHCP, NAT, port mapping, client access restriction (time of day, MAC address), basic firewall Features (remove port mapping, stop ping), etc. If that doesn't tell you anything, you can just auto-configure and forget about it. Two disadvantages: 1) There are no reserved IP addresses for DHCP. It's a star and a half discount. I can't assign consistent IP addresses to things like my NAS devices and printers, which makes me uncomfortable. Bonjour solves most of these problems, but I still need to periodically check MAC addresses to make sure there are no rogue devices connected to my network. The same devices don't identify themselves by name (I'm looking at *you*, Revain Echo). 2) I've had to restart it once in the three months I've had it. This was probably due to my ISP's modem failing on the WAN side, but it's still more than I've had to restart my D-Link in over 12 years. Another half star deduction.
