I have been using this exact remote for almost 7 years and was delighted to have been able to replace it with the exact same one for almost half what I paid for the original. It had no factory documentation, just a bare remote control, but that wasn't a problem for me. User/programming guides are available at esupport.sony.com or type RM VLZ620 into a search engine and you should be taken straight to it. I don't see any scratches or stains. Obviously I like this remote control. It offers control features for my Motorola cable DVR that I don't get with the Time Warner (now Spectrum) remote, and it has a learn option to set it up to my personal taste. It's fairly easy to set up and program, and feels good in the hand. The keys aren't backlit, but they're easy to see in low light, and the backlight kills the batteries anyway (have you ever had to turn on the light to see the backlit key? What a waste!). Most importantly, I'm used to it!
