What makes these stockings fit better than the others is that the ankle, calf and thigh measurements allow me to choose a size that fits perfectly so the compression is even throughout the leg. After vein surgery, the doctor gave me compression stockings from a different brand that didn't fit. Inadequate assistants only measured my thighs and even then the stockings "cut" (big red welts) into my thighs, which is a real hurdle when you can't take them off because you don't have a spare pair. Also, this brand had a nylon band at the top which is less comfortable than the silicone band on these stockings. do not receive adequate support in the calves. These Sigvaris stockings have allowed me to dial in the right fit and they feel great! There is definitely an incentive to wear them all day, which is what I intended for recovery. In the past, if I had worn them regularly throughout my workday, I might not have needed vein surgery in the first place. From now on, I plan to wear them regularly whether they recover or not. Now I really appreciate a quality product and I don't mind paying for quality because it's so hard to find. Be sure to pay less for other brands, after careful comparison, some of them do not have proper compression or lack the quality of this product.
