My husband tested it on his pocket knife he said it works great. My only criticism would be that there were no instructions included, which is good for those experienced with these stones. It was securely packaged, visually beautiful, the wooden mount is pleasant to the touch, my husband's old stone was just a block of black stone from use to use, it was worn and ugly, at least it has a good mount that protects it too At the moment it is in the box, from hitting the box and chipping.
