There must be a temperature difference between the heated component and the heatsink for the heatpipe cooler to work. The heat pipe effect is nullified by a marginal temperature difference. Since the copper tube begins to disperse heat entirely through the thermal conductivity of the metal itself, rather than the ability to transfer heat by the reagent inside the tube, most coolers are unable to cool the CPU below their threshold values. Thankfully, the fins on this cooler extend all the way to the pad, which not only improves its ability to dissipate heat but also makes it more durable. in addition, it can be oriented in such a way as to destroy RAM chips. Also, a sizable and, hence, relatively silent fan.
