My Fox Talas RL fork stanchions were worn out on my 2010 Specialized 2010 Specialized Stumpjumper Expert. A comparable replacement fork was more than worth it. The Talas RL is 140-120-100 and most of the cheaper 26" forks are 100. I didn't want to damage the geometry of the bike so I wanted at least a 120. Another issue was whether a different fork would work. on the bike. The existing crown ring and bearings were in good condition and matched the Lutu fork perfectly. The Avid Elixir caliper bolts on without modification, and the rotor and pads are perfectly aligned. The fork is solid and has plenty of adjustments to customize to your liking. The yellow warning decals were a little annoying, but the shock works well on hard trails. The ride feel is comparable to the Talas, although the Talas responds slightly better to bumps. I don't know how to hold the fork, but I will cross this path when I get there. The only thing I complain about is that the compression adjustment scale is different than the photo. I would have preferred a compression printed dial to ABS, but the dial works well. Overall a great fork for the money if you're looking to upgrade to an air shock or keep an old bike going.
