I have always used regular fluorescent lights to grow plants in a live plant freshwater aquarium. I'm tired of changing lightbulbs every year or so. This light brings my plants to life! In just a few days they will have new green leaves! There's also a lot more blue light in the tank, so it looks amazing! The slow transition to "moonlight" at night is really cool. Then dawn! I think it's better than just a sudden "light on" or "light off" for the fish. Don't use flow stuff, and blitz tricks are what you need. Now let's talk about durability. I will try to update in a few months. Only con I would say I have a 48" tank and if I were to do it again I would go for the next bigger one. I have a 36-48 so the light doesn't hit side to side. Let's say it's 36". However, the tank is very well lit, but I wish the sides were more lit.
