I've been in the DOS/Windows world since '85 and except for my first computer I've built everything I've had. I was pulled screaming and kicking into the world of iMac and I will never look back. However, it's a little disheartening that it must be so difficult to find a joystick listed as being compatible with anything other than the Windows platform. This joystick works great on my new Mac, at least for me. I only bought it for use with X-Plane11. The joystick arrived, I plugged the USB into the Mac and there was no indication on the desktop screen that it knew it was there. Pooh. Launch X-Plane, go into the joystick settings and it not only recognized the joystick but presented an accurate mockup with some buttons and motions already assigned. A few minutes of calibration (easy) and that's it. I've never needed a joystick so I don't have a comparison, but I can say that the controls feel very good, at least to me.
