Review on T Tocas 32v DC Circuit Breaker Fuse Inverter: Manual Reset Button Switch Fuses 12V 15A by Bankroll Reed

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Don't trust the stated amperage - not very good overcurrent protection.

I bought this because I expected a 50A breaker - that's what the rating says. I understand that a current of more than 50A must flow for a certain time in order to work. What they don't tell you upfront is what is listed on the chart that came with that switch. A significant overcurrent must flow for a long time before this switch trips. At this point, any wiring or circuitry you're trying to protect is likely to burn out. Look at the table that came with the switch. In my case I have a 50 amp switch. With a current of 75 amps (50% more than the rated current) flowing according to the chart, it may take 30 to 150 seconds for the circuit breaker to trip (shaded area on chart). If the current is just 20% higher than the rated current (60 amps), it can take from 150 seconds to "never" to work. Not very good overcurrent protection.

Pros
  • Voltage, 32 V DC, 15 A
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
