I bought it to travel 400 miles. As a result, heavy snow fell while driving. In addition to the built in straps, I used a woven bungee cord. For some reason I didn't trust the belts. But in hindsight everything seems fine. It has held up very well. Except for the salt that covered everything, the contents remained completely dry. I like how the zipper is covered to keep water out. I used it on my 400 mile return trip and it has held up great. I removed some elements and added zips to reduce the height of the case so that the contents are better held. The case is made of very high quality material and it seems that it will last quite a long time. I was very happy with it and would buy it again. I haven't washed it yet because it's too cold. I'll update when I do to see how well it held up to the salt.
