My Klipsch soundbar was suffering from muffled dialog. Watching The Walking Dead and trying to understand Daryl or the traitor Eugene was uncomfortable to say the least. After some research I settled on Playbase and I can honestly say that the clarity of the dialogues is outstanding. Despite Daryl's mumbling and Eugene's rapid speech, I could hear her. The base is sufficient for normal television (news/sitcoms), but it lacks depth when playing music or action films. I've decided on a Sonos subwoofer that hasn't arrived yet. It seems to me that the Sonos Playbase is deliberately designed not to include anything that might compel picky audiophiles to buy a subwoofer. Cons: It's a proprietary system, meaning you're forced to only use Sonos speakers. Because it is a proprietary system, Sonos may charge additional fees for its products. If you want to add speakers from other brands, you'll have to buy the outrageously expensive Sonos Connect:Amp. And/or you have to be incredibly creative when connecting your existing sound system. Tip: splitters/switches for digital/optical cables
