Perfect. almost everything about it is wonderful.

I sent my Beam back for that and it was the right choice. I have a sub and surround and the beam was weak. thin and lacking in presence, even in my smaller condo. It's no HDMI arc, but it's limited in its practicality, and a simple Alexa dot gives you full voice commands. the extra test was worth it - at least for my needs. It's amazing how clear it sounds and how it fills the room. I've done many high-end AV setups and I'm just sick of the complexity, wiring, remote controls, etc. At this…

Poor technology, average sound, good design

Six months later it's a waste of money. I wanted this device because I liked the design, heard good things about the Sonos brand, and most importantly, I liked the wireless speaker aspect. Unfortunately, Sonos cannot successfully develop an Internet-connected speaker. There are constant dropouts in the Wi-Fi signal, and Sonos responds by connecting the speaker to a router. This completely defeats the purpose of a wireless speaker and only solves the problem 75% of the time! Also, Sonos customer

Good but not perfect

My Klipsch soundbar was suffering from muffled dialog. Watching The Walking Dead and trying to understand Daryl or the traitor Eugene was uncomfortable to say the least. After some research I settled on Playbase and I can honestly say that the clarity of the dialogues is outstanding. Despite Daryl's mumbling and Eugene's rapid speech, I could hear her. The base is sufficient for normal television (news/sitcoms), but it lacks depth when playing music or action films. I've decided on a Sonos…

Playbase can't download software update - buy something else!

I purchased this item about two years ago and it was working great until last week! Great sound, easy integration with other electronics, and stylish design. Unfortunately I haven't been able to use my Playbase for three days. It seems that one of the software updates keeps throwing an error in Playbase and won't load. To make matters worse, I had no idea which of my Sonos devices was the culprit (I have 6 speakers around the house) and had to unplug each one (one at a time) and manually test…

Really good but VERY VERY LIMITED! Please read

I am an avid gamer and watch anime and some movies. I updated Sound Blaster X (LED). The MacMedia Store told me that Sonos is great and can be used with a PC for gaming etc. I was very happy to receive and set it up. I bought Playbase and SUB. Setup: Setup was amazingly easy and very user friendly. I was happy that everything synced together with no crashes or issues. (***** Five Stars) Product: The goods are very heavy and heavy. I was also very pleased to see that you REALLY pay for what you…

Playbase vs Playbar

I originally bought a Sonos Playbar 2 years ago as part of a 5.1 system with a subwoofer and 2 2nd gen Play 5s. Unfortunately, the Playbar is not compatible with Apple Airplay 2. Even worse, while the second-gen Play 5 is Airplay 2 compatible, the Play 5 will not work with Airplay 2 when connected to a 5.1 system with a Playbar. In short, I had to connect Apple devices to my Sonos system to listen to anything other than music (movies, streaming, games, DJ and VJ software, just about anything)…

Pretty good sound, terrible setup process, outdated Wi-Fi connection

First, I'm an IT professional. My review applies to most Sonos products. I just unpacked the system components, PlayBase, Sub, (2) One SL. PlayBase connected to TV via optical cable. Use of a business WiFi hotspot with a very good range. Installed app on Android phone, (3) iPad, Windows 10 and jailbroken Revain Fire tablet. I've been trying to set up a new system with an app on each device for hours without success. The Sonos support site is almost entirely useless to the pro outside of the…

What has the world been waiting for!

This is what the world has been waiting for Great concept - perfect implementation There have been a few other similar form factors, but none of them made such an impression as the Sonos Playbase. They were either not thin enough, thin but thin, or too small to support common TV sizes. Sonos Playabase shows up and they kick it out of the park! Incredible sound and great aesthetics - thin, rugged, stylish, with a killer sound - a real home run! Where will I put it? This is always one of the…
