Review on Condar Dutchwest Stove Catalytic Probe Thermometer (3-194) - Accurate Temperature Monitoring for Optimal Performance by Lynn Warwick

We used this to monitor the internal temperature of the catalytic converter so we know when to turn it on and it works great. Some reviewers say they had to trim it to fit their ovens. I don't - the length is perfect for piercing our Dutchwest2462 refractory stove assembly so that it rests slightly higher than the cat itself. In combination with the new refractory and the cauldron, our stove burns perfectly. Slightly less wood consumption, more stable heat and no smoke!
